Plantation Aquilaria — Grade, Documentation and Reproducibility

Plantation Aquilaria is cultivated agarwood produced under managed induction. The tree forms resin in response to wounding or inoculation. This is the source model for our agarwood range; glass, metal and ceramic accessories have their own material specifications.

For repeat supply, we use an approved reference to compare proposed material. Cultivation can support source planning, but natural lots still differ. Agree the desired profile and acceptable variation on samples rather than treating a plantation label as a guarantee of identical aroma.

Source lots are recorded from the stand and induction date. Ask for the records that apply to the quoted lot. They can support a provenance review, but do not replace any permit, declaration or destination requirement, or guarantee a reduction in customs delays.

Our highest incense tier is koh grade made with selected plantation material. We do not supply wild-band or kyara material. That is a range boundary, not a claim that resin concentration or sensory quality can be ranked from cultivation method alone.

Cultivation is the source approach we use. Any sustainability, legality or certification statement still needs evidence for the actual material and supply chain. A plantation label is not on its own a certification or a complete account of environmental impact.

A managed stand grows before induction is carried out. Resin formation then develops over time before harvest and processing. Ask which induction and harvest records are available for the specific lot rather than assuming one fixed schedule for all plantation material.

Induction, time before harvest, source fraction and processing can affect the profile. Origin is another part of the description, not a substitute for those details. Within our range, we select material for the intended application and compare it against the agreed reference.

A sealed reference sample gives a repeat order a physical point of comparison. It does not remove natural variation or guarantee future stock. Confirm the new batch, its availability and the degree of match before approving the next order.

Plantation material spans different commercial specifications. Compare grade, formulation, format, quantity and packaging on the quotation. We do not publish a universal price multiple between an everyday blend and koh-grade material.

This grade description cannot promise the character of a particular wild or collector piece. If you need a defined sensory target, provide a physical reference and intended use. We will explain what can be assessed and whether a suitable material is available.

A useful purchase brief names the material grade, intended application, quantity and destination, together with any required records or tests. The product and packaging specification must then be agreed for that order.

When replacing an existing product, compare the proposed sample alongside it under similar conditions. Assess aroma, handling and burn behaviour as applicable. The comparison supports your own selection; it is not a laboratory test or a promise of market acceptance.
