Agarwood incense sticks include bamboo-core and coreless constructions. In a cored stick, the bamboo and surrounding incense body burn together. Their sensory contribution depends on the formulation and burning conditions; there is no fixed rule that the final third becomes papery. A coreless stick contains incense material and binder rather than agarwood alone.
Our stated formulation uses natural makko at 18–22%, without charcoal or synthetic accelerants. This is a formulation statement, not a comparative emissions measurement. Black smoke, ash colour or self-extinguishing cannot by themselves establish whether a product contains agarwood or is adulterated.
We source plantation Aquilaria for the agarwood material. Record the species, source lot, product and formulation relevant to the order. Natural lots can vary; plantation origin is not an assurance of identical future scent, an automatic legal clearance or a universal grade test. We do not supply wild or kyara material.
Choose length, diameter and count against the actual buyer’s brief and compatible holder. The catalogue includes 10.5 cm, 13.5 cm, 21 cm and 30 cm short formats, plus 40 cm, 60 cm and 90 cm temple formats. The latter have their own diameter, packing and schedule. Do not treat a market name as proof that one format is suitable for every home, temple or hotel.
Catalogue burn times are format-dependent references, not a precise timer or measured acceptance result for every lot. Compare samples under agreed conditions, including airflow, placement and the holder. A thicker or longer stick does not establish a simple proportional burn time or smoke quantity.
Stock packaging has no general minimum. Private label generally starts from 500 boxes, with a 300-box exception for Japanese koh; the temple product separately offers custom length from 100 boxes. Agree the formulation, dimensions, count, box and print in the quotation. A pre-production sample needs written approval before the main run. Private-label production is generally 25–35 days from approved artwork; temple formats list 30–40 days. Confirm dispatch and transit separately.
For quote comparison, request the actual length, diameter, count, pack and net quantity, distinguishing nominal specifications from measured values. Do not infer material mass from an unverified geometric estimate or compare boxes with different counts as though they were equivalent.
Keep sticks dry and in the agreed closed packaging. Inspect damp or damaged cartons on arrival and discuss any changed burn behaviour. A fixed 24-hour acclimatisation period is not a validated remedy for every climate, and not every fault can be attributed to transit moisture.
Describe the actual goods and binder accurately in the invoice. The broker and relevant authorities determine the requirements for the species, form and route, including any permit exceptions. Accurate paperwork supports review but does not guarantee classification or clearance.
