Coreless agarwood incense sticks are extruded as a solid rod of incense material rather than rolled around a bamboo skewer. That single construction difference changes the product more than any other variable in this category. A cored stick burns its skewer along with the aromatic material, and bamboo contributes a dry, papery, faintly acrid note that becomes unmistakable once the burn passes the halfway point. Coreless sticks have no such component, so the scent profile stays coherent from ignition to ash.
The trade-offs are real and worth stating plainly. Coreless sticks are more fragile in transit, which is why we pack them in a moulded tray rather than loose in a sleeve. They are more expensive to produce, because extrusion is slower than rolling and the reject rate is higher. And they burn slightly faster at the same diameter. In exchange you get a product that a discerning customer can distinguish blind from a cored stick. That is the entire commercial argument.
Our coreless line runs on plantation Aquilaria sinensis powder bound with natural makko at 18–22%. That binder window is where the mechanical strength and the scent quality intersect — below 18% the sticks break in the box, above 22% the burn slows and the profile flattens. We dry before packing and ship desiccant in every master carton, because a coreless stick that has absorbed humidity is a coreless stick that self-extinguishes.

Are coreless sticks more fragile in shipping?
Yes, meaningfully so — there is no skewer providing tensile strength. We ship them in a moulded tray inside the box rather than loose in a sleeve, which brings breakage to well under 1% in transit. If you are re-packing at your end, keep the tray.
Do coreless sticks burn faster?
Slightly, at the same diameter, because the whole cross-section is combustible aromatic material rather than partly bamboo. Our 1.8 mm × 13.5 cm sticks run 28–34 minutes. If you need a longer burn for a specific retail claim, we can go to 2.2 mm which lands around 45 minutes.
Can I get coreless sticks in an Arabic length?
Yes, up to 30 cm. Be aware that long coreless sticks are appreciably more fragile and we recommend a 2.5 mm minimum diameter above 21 cm, with a rigid box rather than a sleeve.
