The problem

Agarwood is unusually difficult to buy well

Not because the material is complicated, but because almost nothing that matters about it is visible at the moment you buy.

Agarwood lots differ in origin, resin profile and processing, and appearance alone does not establish those properties. Compare the actual batch sample with its specification and available source records before committing to an order; a grade name or price alone is not proof. The agarwood raw material in our range comes from plantation Aquilaria, not wild-harvested material.

Risks include plantation material described as wild, an unsuitable stick formulation, documents that do not describe the shipped goods, and oil that differs from the approved sample. In a bamboo-core stick, the core burns alongside its coating; it does not begin burning only in a fixed final third. Evaluate the whole burn and the actual formulation. Smell alone is not a reliable way to establish every kind of oil adulteration.

These examples identify specifications and documents worth checking; they do not establish why a particular dispute happened or rule out fraud. Agree the actual formulation, nominal mesh or dimensions and relevant test methods. Check transport classification against the applicable current product SDS with the shipper and carrier, and link batch-specific reports to the goods through traceable identifiers. Declared specifications, measured results and product-level documents serve different purposes.

Declared specifications and measured results must be distinguished. We do not issue a chromatogram with every bottle of oil: independent analysis is commissioned for a named batch with scope and cost agreed first. We do not describe plantation material as wild. Agree the actual formulation; a binder percentage alone does not establish a breakage rate.

Our range is deliberately focused: six principal product families and their accessories. Chips, standalone decorative sculptures, bracelets and seedlings are outside this catalogue. The functional carved incense holder remains part of our accessory range.

How it is made

We mill, blend, form and dry our agarwood consumables, and distil or extract according to the product. Confirm species, source and method for the product and batch; specialist partners make accessories. We do not supply wild-collected material or a separate kyara/kynam line. A nominal mesh grade is not a measured conformity percentage, and we publish no measured moisture ceiling without a record.

A sealed sample of the agarwood-consumable batch is held for 3 months from dispatch. Samples and records support comparison; they are not independent certification or a guarantee of a dispute outcome.

GB 26386-2025

Burning incense — safety

The mandatory PRC safety standard for burning incense, covering formaldehyde, benzene homologues, TVOC and migratable heavy metals. Compliance is a condition of sale in China, not a marketing option.

T/HAIUA 001-2024

Agarwood burning products

Hainan Agarwood Industry Association. This voluntary reference covers agarwood sticks and coils; its curvature criterion applies only to sticks. Reference limits are moisture ≤ 12.0%, ethanol-soluble extract ≥ 10.0% and, for sticks, curvature ≤ 3.0%. These criteria are not product certification or evidence that a particular batch has been tested.

Agarwood identification

With DB46/T 421-2017, the two PRC references for authenticating agarwood itself — four chromone marker peaks by HPLC, plus colour reaction and TLC against a reference sample.

Specified against is not the same as certified to, and we do not use the two interchangeably. Where a figure has been measured we say so and give the test condition; where it has not, the specification page says that instead of quoting a number we cannot stand behind. Documentation

The paperwork is where agarwood deals actually fail

The documentation guides explain scope, availability and costs. They are not a universal mandatory pack or proof that every analysis is automatically included; confirm product and destination requirements with the broker and relevant authority.

Inconsistent documents can trigger queries or delays. Before dispatch, check the goods description, batch, consignee, permit validity and any required inspection. Early planning reduces avoidable mistakes, but does not guarantee clearance or the availability of a document requested later.

The guides explain document scope, issuers and what we can supply. Agree responsibilities, fees and timing before ordering. We do not make decisions for customs or permit authorities; the broker and relevant authority must confirm the actual product and destination requirements.

Transport documentation affects landed cost as well as paperwork. Use the applicable version of the safety data sheet for the actual product, not a presumed new SDS for every batch. Section 9 records physical properties, including a flash point if reported, while Section 14 provides transport information. Distilled oils and extracts must not be assigned one blanket transport classification. Ask the shipper and carrier to verify classification and acceptance for the actual goods, proposed packaging, quantity and route before booking; do not assume that a safety data sheet removes dangerous-goods requirements or charges.

How it works

From first enquiry to dispatch

Five stages to plan together. The checks and sequence depend on the product, available stock, customization and shipment; record responsibilities and approvals for the actual order.

  1. Tell us the specification

    Quantity, grade, format, packaging and destination country. Destination matters at this stage rather than later, because it determines the document set.

  2. First reply targeted within one business day

    We review the product, quantity and destination and aim to reply within one business day. A costed specification can require further product, packing or document checks. We will also say when a request is outside our range.

  3. Paid sample from a real batch

    Drawn from production, not from a display box, and sent with the written specification for the line. Evaluate how the oil changes over several hours, not just its first impression on a scent strip.

  4. Approve, and we hold the lot

    After written approval, agree an available quantity of the same consumable batch for a thirty-day reservation at no charge. Confirm the lot number, quantity, start and end dates and conditions; the entire balance is not automatically held. Assess any replacement batch separately.

  5. Production, QC and documentation

    Plan the agreed batch checks and sealed consumable retention sample, and identify the applicable documents with your broker. Send available supplier documents at the agreed stage; official applications, inspections and issue dates depend on the relevant authority and shipment.

  6. For a seasonal deadline — Ramadan, Eid or year-end gifting — work backwards from the shelf date using the actual sample, artwork, production, permit, freight and clearance schedule. Confirm the available capacity and buffer for the order; there is no single lead-time allowance for every product or route.

A wholesale buyer is choosing a shelf, not a scent. Every setting below fixes three things — how long it has to burn, how much smoke and ash the space tolerates, and whether an open flame is allowed at all — and those three decide the format before grade ever comes into it.

Bedroom and evening use at home

A small room, one person, twenty minutes to half an hour before the end of the day.

What it constrains
Choose a burn duration and smoke output suited to the room, with a holder that collects falling ash. Check the sample in the intended conditions; a room size alone does not determine a suitable stick.

Study, reading and desk work

One person, one sitting, typically forty minutes to an hour at a desk.

What it constrains
Choose the actual product for the intended sitting and scent level. A short koh-grade stick may finish before a forty-minute session; do not assume the listed formats all cover the full sitting.

For repeat desk-use purchases, compare successive boxes against an approved reference. Check the intended sitting length and scent level on a sample rather than assuming a repeat-purchase pattern.

Tea room and tea service

A table, two to six people, the length of a tea session.

What it constrains
Evaluate whether the scent competes with the tea. Test the dose and heating method in the intended room; a lidded censer does not by itself guarantee a softer release.

Where incense is offered alongside teaware, compare the censer and incense together. Set the price and presentation for the actual shop rather than assuming a higher price tolerance.

Offices and shared spaces

A room other people also work in, often all day, sometimes with a no-open-flame rule.

What it constrains
Check the premises rules before selecting any incense. Combustion may be prohibited; an electric heater also needs approval. The pictured burning stick is not a recommendation for a restricted workplace.

An electric burner avoids an open flame, but its use still requires approval from the premises. Check the actual model, electrical and temperature safety, ventilation and local rules; offices, hotels and clinics do not automatically permit it under a no-open-flame policy.

Yoga and indoor movement

A studio or a cleared room, forty-five to ninety minutes, with the incense supervised throughout.

What it constrains
Choose a coil or long stick to suit the session and verify its burn time with the batch sample. Use a stable, heat-resistant ash tray away from movement and flammable materials. Never leave burning incense unattended.

For studio supply, agree quantities, packaging and reorder timing with the buyer. Confirm that incense is permitted and that someone will supervise it throughout use.

What it constrains
Compare burn duration between batches under agreed conditions and choose a format suited to the session. Incense is not a precision timer and cannot guarantee a fixed meditation duration.

What it constrains
Evaluate appearance when unlit as well as stability, heat resistance and ash collection in use. A display piece still needs compatible consumables and suitable use instructions.

What it constrains
Ask the institution about the intended duration, supervision, ventilation and permitted format. Longer sticks may be candidates, but size alone does not establish burn time or suitability for a service.

The questions we get before anyone asks for a price

What is your minimum order?

There is no general minimum across available stock lines, but product-specific pack quantities and minimums still apply. Tell us the SKU and quantity for a quotation. Stock dispatch is normally within two weeks, subject to availability; freight is quoted separately. Incense private-label manufacturing generally starts from 500 boxes; the Japanese koh SKU lists a 300-box exception. Confirm any oil, powder, custom hardware or packaging conditions for the selected line.

Are you a factory or a trading company?

We produce incense, agarwood powder and oud oil. Specialist partners make our holders, burners, bottles and packaging to our specifications. The plantation statement concerns agarwood material, not glass or metal; confirm species and source for each SKU and batch. We do not supply wild-collected material or a separate kyara/kynam line. Factory footage shows available stages, not a test report.

How much does agarwood incense cost wholesale?

Price depends on the product, formulation, dimensions, quantity, packing and destination. A grade name does not prove a fixed ten-fold difference in price or resin content. Send your requirements to begin a quotation; we aim to reply within one business day and may need further details. Compare actual offers and samples.

Can I get a sample before ordering?

Yes. Paid consumable samples are drawn from a production batch and supplied with the line’s written specification so you can assess the product before committing to quantity. A batch certificate of analysis or independent testing can be requested, with availability, scope and cost agreed before commissioning; neither is automatically included. After written sample approval, a thirty-day reservation at no charge can cover an agreed available quantity from the same batch. Confirm the batch number, reserved quantity, start and end dates and conditions in writing; the entire balance is not automatically held. Assess a replacement batch separately if the approved lot is no longer available.

What are your lead times?

Stock dispatch is normally within two weeks from confirmation, subject to availability. General private-label incense is typically 25–35 days from written artwork approval; temple sticks and decorated glass list 30–40 days, rigid gift boxes 30–45 days. Other packing and custom work need their own schedule. New tooling may add time; ten days is a planning allowance to confirm, not a guarantee. Agree pre-production approval, permits, inspections, transit and clearance for the actual order; a factory schedule does not guarantee an authority’s approval or delivery date.

What documentation ships with an order?

A safety data sheet is standard for oils and follows the applicable product revision. A certificate of analysis for the specific batch is available on request after scope, availability and cost are confirmed: we provide the batch-record and sensory sections, while any commissioned instrument results come from the laboratory. Check the laboratory, method and accreditation scope for the actual work; accreditation does not automatically cover every test. Independent GC-MS is arranged on the same agreed-cost basis. Our documentation section explains the records and their limits. Permit and certificate requirements vary by destination and product form; confirm the actual import route with your broker before booking freight.

Do you ship agarwood oil by air?

Air shipment can be arranged subject to classification and carrier acceptance for the actual product and batch. Check Section 9 of its safety data sheet for physical properties, including any measured flash point, and Section 14 for transport information. Do not infer a non-dangerous-goods classification from the name agarwood oil or from flash point alone. Confirm classification, packaging, quantity limits, route and charges with the shipper and carrier before booking; the safety data sheet does not by itself guarantee acceptance or exemption from dangerous-goods requirements.

Do you sell wood chips, bracelets or bakhoor?

No. We make incense sticks, cones and coils, backflow cones, incense powder and oud oil, plus the burners, holders and bottles those lines need. Chips, standalone decorative sculptures, bracelets, seedlings and bakhoor sit outside our range; the functional carved incense holder in our catalogue is an accessory, not a separate sculpture line. We would rather point you elsewhere than sell you something outside this scope.
